NCC Expands its Human Resources and Training and Development Capacity by Hiring a New Corporate Services Coordinator
NCC Investment Group Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Lena Akavak as the new Corporate Services Coordinator of the NCC group of companies. Lena will play an important role in managing our training, development and apprenticeship programs, as well as other human resources matters, in conjunction with the Corporate Services Manager. The creation of this new positions was very important to NCC at this time as our training program in five High Arctic communities kicks off. This training program is administered jointly by NCC, Qikiqtani Industry Ltd. and Qikiqtaaluk Business Development Corporation, and is funded by Kakivak Association and Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation.
Prior to joining NCC, Lena worked for the Federal Government since 2016. She also previously held positions in the Government of Nunavut and the City of Iqaluit in the Human Resources department. In her spare time, Lena enjoys being outdoors, camping, and riding her snow machine with her family in the winter/spring months and boating in the summer. She was a competitive volleyball player and has participated in tournaments in several communities. Lena is passionate both personally and professionally about speaking, reading, and writing Inuktitut. Lena currently lives in Iqaluit with her family.
