NCC Properties is excited to announce the appointment of Mike McPherson as Director of Properties. Following the major sale of 126 residential units to the Nunavut Housing Corporation in November 2021, NCC Properties is currently pursuing opportunities to rebuild its asset base. As such, there was a strong need for a senior management position in NCC’s rental properties operation to manage both NCC’s existing property portfolio as well as future acquisitions. NCC was fortunate to secure Mike McPherson for this critical position as Mike is highly experienced with property management in Nunavut.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Mike has resided in Nunavut since 2006. Mike initially moved to Kinngait, and then transferred to Iqaluit. Mike has held both management and senior management positions at the Nunavut Housing Corporation since relocating to Nunavut, where he has acquired extensive experience and knowledge of property management. Mike joined NCC as Director of Properties in April 2022. As Director of Properties, Mike is responsible for overseeing NCC’s large portfolio of residential and commercial properties throughout the territory and is the lead on property management matters, including preventative maintenance and capital improvement plans, leasing, and budgeting. Mike will also be heavily involved in assessing potential property acquisitions, dispositions and developments.
Mike is a dedicated volunteer with youth hockey in Nunavut and was a past President of Iqaluit Minor Hockey, past President of Hockey Nunavut, and past Vice President of Hockey North. Mike and his wife Angela have a daughter named Ryleigh.
NCC management is excited to have Mike on board at this busy time and is looking forward to the expertise and discipline he will bring to the company’s property management operations.
