NCC Development Limited is seeking an Estimator located in Iqaluit, NU. This role will be responsible for the initial planning stages and lifecycle of construction projects, both large and small. The Estimator is essential in ensuring that projects are accurately estimated, efficiently planned, and successfully executed, contributing significantly to company growth and success.

Duties & Responsibilities Overview:

• Prepare and manage comprehensive estimates, risk analysis, bids, and proposals for various projects
• Conduct thorough reviews and provide management with project surveys to assess risk and feasibility
• Procure plans and specifications for approved projects
• Develop detailed job estimates and budgets
• Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums for pricing preparation
• Procure and evaluate sub-contractor quotes
• Prepare final bid/proposal documents and track task completion
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Lead bid review processes and ensure timely submission of proposals or bid delivery to clients
• Attend project review meetings to provide insight on estimated versus actual expenditures

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent certification required
• 5 years of experience in construction estimating
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes and project execution
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and database management
• Competent in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business periodicals, technical procedures, and government regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of Inuktitut considered an asset
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Valid drivers license
